Cake Season - Lego Guy

Its Birthday season at our house, so watch out, hurricane Sarah is coming through, Its cake baking time!
I have been googling Lego cakes for a few weeks now, and nothing totally popped out at me that screamed "pick me! Pick me!"  I bought some Lego cases for party prizes, and on the case was a face of the Lego guy. That's when I knew my game plan for the cake.  A Lego head.
 Cake supplies.
See, its a very messy process.
Once I got the cake pieces baked, I put them together, frosted it.  The whole time I wasn't sure if I should use fondant or not to cover the cake, but when I seen the cake just frosted, I knew I needed to fondant.
Ahhh much nicer!  Fondant is fun. It used to intimidate me, but its very easy to work with.  And it gives a nice, clean cake surface to work with.
I had leftover cake batter, so I made some cupcakes as well.
 Tada!  Isaac's Lego guy cake!
and cupcakes!
