Christmas Day

Engulfed in Gifts

It was so fun to see the excitement and joy in Macie and Isaac's eyes Christmas Eve. Macie got her Christmas wish list, and then some. Isaac enjoyed his first Christmas engulfed with boxes, bows and wrapping paper, oh yah, and toys.

Merry Christmas!

It's hard to believe that Christmas has come and gone already! These pictures were taken on Christmas Eve before we went off to our party. Macie was so sick of pictures by then end of the holiday, we were lucky to get these! Isaac was pre-occupied with the Christmas tree, so it was hard to get him to look also. Even with all the trouble, I am so happy we got these shots.

Beach Party

After dealing with a deep freeze for the past 2 weeks I am ready to get some temperatures above zero! We've been dressing in layers of clothes, it takes 15+ mins to get ready to go anywhere after getting bundled up and into the car. The last thing on my mind is getting into a swimsuit. Well, as I went to get Macie up from her "rest" today, I discovered she was doing anything but resting, she was prancing around in her swimsuit and telling me she was having a beach party! My first thought to myself was, how did she get that on by herself, and second was, aren't you freezing! She obviously wasn't, because she refused to take the swimsuit off unless it was to put on another one. She stayed in her beach attire until it was time to change into pj's. Ahhhh, if I could only be a kid again.

Girly Girl

Little Miss Macie is certainly becoming a girly girl. She picked out her very own outfit on Sunday. Her choice didn't surprise me since Saturday her and I got to have a mom and Macie day and we went to a dance production of "Silver Bells." I was excited to take her because I thought she would enjoy the dancers and their costumes. She was so impressed with the show. She couldn't take her eyes off of it the first half, and the second half she decided to dance along with the them. She stood center isle and watched and tried to copy the dancers. After the show I asked her if she wanted to be a dancer and she said "Yes mommy, my want to be a ballerina, a blue one!"

A great start to the week

We got to have a great start to the week with a visit from my best friend Abbey, her little boy Braelin and her husband Brett. I was so excited for their visit because we only get to see each other about once or twice a year. It was fun to see the kids all interacting with each other. Isaac couldn't keep his eyes off of Braelin as he was crawling and cruising around the house. Macie had fun showing off her toys and her sweet self. For some reason she can talk anyone into wearing princess gear. Abbey and I needed a picture taken and the guys were gone so who else other than Macie to take a picture of us! Shes getting very good at her new hobby, as its pretty handy too. At least we don't have to set up the timer on the camera anymore! We were sad to see them leave, but feel very fortunate that we got to get together over the holidays.

So close, yet so far away..

Isaac is still making efforts to crawl, but hes not quite there yet. He is finding it easier to scoot himself on his butt, or just roll to whatever hes after. Christmas presents in particular. What I do know.. . his pants are way too small! haha. Sorry buddy, we won't put you in those again. HA!

Christmas Baking

Holiday baking is something I did not look foward to do this year. I felt bad because I knew Macie would enjoy it. So Roger stepped in and took over the baking. They got through one batch of cookies, and Macie throughly enjoyed the licking of the bowl. I would say her dad let her have a little more than a lick of the bowl though! You can see the evidence all over her face!

Third times a charm!

Just when I was literally giving up hope on Macie ever getting potty trained, she did it! The first two times I tried, she just didn't get it. Everyone told me "it will just click one day." I was wondering MMMhmmm, when?! I don't know what happened, but Thursday morning, I went to change her diaper, and she was dry. So like all the other times I say to her "lets go sit on the potty." Of course she says "NOOOO!" For some reason I was able to talk her into it, and that was it! She took off and has been so proud ever since. She doesn't need to be reminded to go, she just goes all on her own. This was by far one of my biggest challenges with Macie, but its also been the biggest success! Third time is definitely a charm!

Noise

Isaac is showing off his personality more and more every day. He is exploring toys more and although he is still laid back and content, hes starting to be very vocal and entertaining. He loves making noise with packages, and banging against whatever he can reach, shake the noise makers, and he makes himself heard by bellowing out "DA DA DA DA DA!" I love this age.

BOO!

Hide and Seek by Macie.
1. You Hide, I count to 3.
2. Be ready 1, 2, 3, I'm coming!
3. BOO! I find you!
4. Now I hide, you count to 3.
5. Ha ha ha ha ha! This is fun! Come find me!
6. Ha ha ha!
7. Ahhh you find me!
8. Us do it again, I count to 3.

The work of Macie

Macie has found a new interest in the camera. She loves to take pictures, and really, she does a pretty good job! After taking a picture she says "OOOH look at that!"

Sing along

Macie loves this song by Taylor Swift. It takes her awhile to start singing along, but its worth the wait. :)

Seven Months Already?

Isaac is already seven months! Hes getting the hang of being up on all 4's and gets around by rolling or inching himself. Hes finally sleeping all night! Wahooo! Where does the time go though? I remember as a kid time seemed to stand still. What happened to that?

Oh Christmas Tree

We put up the tree last week and Macie loved going through all of the Christmas ornaments, she was tickled pink when she found "teddy" in the mix of them. Teddy is an ornament my mom made for me when I was little. He looks just like the really Teddy Bear who I had and now Macie gets to enjoy. She was so anxious to put them all up on the tree, although she put them all in one spot, about 3' up on the tree. :) Isaac was just happy to get a hold of a Christmas ball when one came near him.

Thanksgiving Day

Macie helped me make the Thanksgiving meatballs this year. She took it upon herself to add some extra salt to the mix though. ha ha. We enjoyed the holiday and are looking foward to the upcoming holiday season!

Marigolds in the winter?

Macie was outside busy planting in her garden yesterday. I asked her what she was doing, and she replied with "My planting marigolds mommy." Hmm I should have known.

My be a princess!

"Mommy, my be a princess!" This is Macie's new favorite phrase. She loves to play dress-up, so it didn't surprise me today when she asked me to tie her blanket like a princess dress. ha ha. A girl knows how to improvise! She also insisted on wearing her princess dress to the grocery store. How could I tell her no. :)

Caterpillar Crawl

Isaac is stuck on the Caterpillar crawl! He doesn't seem to get very far with it. ahha. Once he gets his arms in tune with his legs, he should be on his way!

Early Birds

I realize that we are a little early for Christmas decorations, but how can you resist when you have kids! Macie and Roger were out putting up the outdoor decorations early last week. She showed her daddy that she knew what was going on. No directions needed!

Guess Who

Keagan has found a new spot to nap. Macie was so excited to wake up to Keagan snuggled in her bed with her. Keagan usually sneaks in after Macie has fallen asleep. Isaac also loves to watch Keagan. He smiles, and tries to grab her every time Keagan walks by him. Now if Keagan could only last another 14 years, the kids could enjoy her as much as I have.
