School Days

We have been anticipating the first day of school for a while now, and last week it finally came! Our usual shy daughter was overly excited for her first day. This is a good thing, but made me worry that all the excitement would end when we got to her classroom. She did wonderful, she was so brave and proud and happy to be there. I wasn't going to cry, but after seeing her make new friends immediately entering the classroom, I teared up. :) She was going to be OK, and I was going to miss her while she was learning fun things in school. Now, it does help immensely that my sister is her teacher. :) So I hope she doesn't thing that she will follow her to every grade she enters. ha ha.

Soaking Up Summer

After a summer of more chilly days than warm days, we are soaking up a week of weather in the 90's. We went to the outdoor pool for the first time all summer. Macie loves being at the pool with her cousins, but Isaac wasn't too sure what to think of all the kids in the water splashing. He tried to have fun, but really enjoyed being out of the water more than in the water.

Playdoh and Closets

Spending $10.00 on a playdoh set is the best investment for rainy days this summer. We have definitely gotten our use out of it. Isaac keeps himself occupied by opening doors, and exploring areas he really shouldn't be exploring. :) At least hes still short.

Ketchup Please

"Here, I will just try a little, ok dad?"
"MMMM, maybe more."

Road Trip

Very creapy feeling to have a tiger on top of you!

We took a road trip to Bismarck last weekend. Our mission was to pick up our pantry cabinet that has been sitting at Lowes for 2 months. While we were there we took advantage of shopping, swimming, the Olive Garden, and a visit to the zoo. The drive is only 4 hours, so its almost perfect. One night in a hotel, just enough. I realized that when you travel with 2 kids the first part of the journey is exciting and fun. The second part, a little stressful and thoughts of "why did we do this?" As we are ending the trip, all we can do is shake our heads and laugh. Kids are fun.

License to Drive

It didnt take Macie long to figure out how to make the bobcat move on her own. She had a blast driving, and Isaac thought she was the coolest ever!

We were finishing up our backyard last weekend with sod so Roger had a bobcat to help level out the yard. Macie had the best time riding in it with her daddy. She even drove it! She was pretty good at it too. Isaac got to watch up on the deck. He thought it was fun to watch, but he wasnt too sure about the noise once he got in. Stay tuned for a video of Macie driving!

Caution: I have a nose plunger, and I know how to use it!

Isaac is the biggest goofball. He's had a cold off and on the past month, so he is familiar with the nose plunger. Most kids don't like their nose being violated, but Isaac gets a kick out it. Well he found the special device in arms reach today so he brought it upon himself to use it. He laughed so hard when he picked it up, and I could not stop laughing myself! It was so funny! I am glad I caught some of his goofiness on camera!
