Ok, so we've had the many birthdays in a row in May. June slid by us way too fast with days of playing outside, gardening, enjoying the sunny days, playing softball, watching baseball, splashing in the pool, riding in our new Jeep with the top off, heading out the fair for rides, and BBQing on the deck. Now its July! We just enjoyed a nice long weekend celebrating Independence Day. Roger even took 3 days off in a row! But now its the 6th of July and we are back to trying to pack our summer into 2 more months. Hopefully the weather stays nice, not too hot, not too chilly, and no more rainy days, and please mosquito's, stay away.

Pictures of my sleeping kids are always so priceless to me. Macie is all cuddled up in her Princess and the Frog jammies, and Isaac is bummed out shirtless! I guess that was a good hint to himself that its too warm to wear fleece jammies to bed....even if they do have a big monster truck on the shirt.
Hand Prints
Macie and Isaac weren't too sure about sticking their hands in the cement pad of our future shed, but they imprints turned out pretty good. Now whenever we open the shed door, our hand prints will be there! The storage shed is turning out to be more than a storage shed. Instead a super sized shed/playhouse with a loft will be built. Roger wasn't in on the idea at first, but now hes imagining himself bunking out in the loft. We will see if the shed makes it into this years time frame. If not, we have a toddler sized basketball court for the kids.

More Cake
OK, I have to admit, I am really getting into this cake decorating thing. Its really fun. Macies Princess and the Frog cake was a bit more challenging than Isaacs jeep cake, but it was worth it. Macie kept coming out of her room during her quiet time and she would say "OOOH Mom, its looking good!" So her reactions were worth the challenge. She loved it!
THE BIG 4!
Macie turned 4 on May 8th! She had a great day. It started off with a parade for band day and ended with 2 parties. This was her first year she had a friends party. I was a bit nervous about it, but it went great. The theme was Princess and the Frog. She enjoyed her party so much, and no meltdowns! I think 4 is going to be a good year! She was such a big girl and at one point she said to me "Mommy, I am so happy its my birthday, I love being 4!" After her friends left we had family over for pizza and more cake! I was so proud of her. I can already tell 4 is moving on up and out of the "terrible 2's and 3's." Since shes turned 4 shes been trying new foods, sharing much more with her brother, and talking our ears off. This must be the age of non stop talking! But I'll take that over meltdowns. We love you Miss Macie!

My new obsession
I don't know if I have mentioned my new favorite site www.thepioneerwoman.com, my new obsession... but if I haven't its a must see site. My wonderful friend introduced me to the site, and I have been hooked ever since. I literally started drooling just looking through the recipes. I haven't made a bad recipe yet. Spaghetti and meatballs is to die for, and the Shrimp Pasta in a tinfoil is like going to the Olive Garden. Check out the site, buy her cookbook, you will thank yourself. YUM!
The Jeep Party
Isaac had a great time at his birthday party. I love this age so much because they get it now. They know its their birthday, and they know its special. Isaac loved his "cool trike" he got from Papa and Grandma, and all the cool trucks he got from his aunts and cousins. I swear since he's turned 2, he learned how to have conversations with us too. He finishes his sentences now and asks lots of questions. I love it.
and hes already wore out the battery of his Jeep. "Mommy! HELP! Jeep broke!"

C A K E
When Isaac's birthday was coming up I debated over baking his cake, or ordering his cake from the grocery store. I ordered "What's New Cupcake" to get some ideas and just got a little overwhelmed with the idea so I decided to order his cake. Well the grocery store didn't do jeep cakes, so I was going to settle for a truck cake. Turns out I went to go place my order and they were closed in the bakery. So I was on to plan B. I was going to make this cake myself. I laid awake at night thinking of it, and got tips from an old friend. The past 2 days I have baked and decorated Isaac's Jeep themed cake. How FUN! I had so much fun decorating this cake! I don't think I want to let people eat it now..... Ok, I will. Next week I am on to Princess and the Frog cake decorating.
Mr. Isaac is 2
Isaac is 2 today. It was such a fun day because he knew he was 2, and he knew it was his birthday. I can remember the day he was born like it was yesterday. We became a family of 4, and he fit in so well. This past year he has really became his own person. He shares a love for Jeeps with his daddy. Something that I realize I will quite never fully understand, but I know the thought of them and the noise of them, really makes him happy. He learns so much from his sister. More than we really even know. He watches and listens closely and tries to be like her. He's got a sensitive side to him when he rocks and feeds sissy's babies, he hushes them and soothes them. This makes me smile. Then he puts them in a stroller and flies down the hallway going "VROOOM!!" This also makes me smile. This is the difference in boys and girls. Isaac's favorite food is french fries. He loves them so much that when we go to Dairy Queen he orders french fries. Every meal he asks for french fries. I will never forget the way he says it either. Isaac is a goofy, fun loving, speedy, little motor head. He hears any type of machinery drive by and he is flying to the window to see if he can spot the "BOBCAT!" "UGH BOBCAT!" In one year he has grown up so much. I know this next year he will grow and learn even more. This year he will move into a big boy bed, learn how to use the big boy potty, and have to give up the infamous nukie. In his words, its his "baba." I love 2, I think its such a fun age. They are so independant and learning the world around them. I love seeing the world through my 2 year old.
Happy Birthday Isaac!

Hide your credit cards!
Miss Macie has been finding her way around the Nick Jr. website and Disney website for awhile now, but now shes onto bigger and better things! Online shopping! I was looking on www.Disneystore.com the other night and she sits up next to me saying "OH MOMMY! I want that!" Well I got up to do something and next thing I know she is clicking on the size 4 and clicks the "add to bag" button. What exactly did she buy? Well a princess Tianna nightgown, a Disney Princess's nightgown, and a Belle nightgown. All size 4. All at 24.99 a piece. Good thing the credit card number wasn't saved in there, or we may have had a hefty nightgown bill. She was too cute though clapping and saying "AHHHH! DADDY! I just bought Princess nightgowns online!!!!"

Earth Day
Yesterday we planted our tulips in honor of Earth Day. I let the kids decide where to put them, and they pretty much did all the work with a little big of my help. I also started my own little greenhouse with some herbs and veges to plant outside later this spring. Macie and Isaac love seeing the little green sprouts come up. I find it exciting too! ha ha. We will see how my first run of a vegetable garden goes this summer. It will be something fun to do with the kids. I can't wait! Wish us luck!
Friday Fun Days
Every Friday I try to have a fun activity for the kids to do since Fridays are our only days we don't have something specific on the calendar, and HELLO! Its FRIDAY!!! Last week we made Ooey Gooey Chocolate Peanut Butter brownies. They were an ooey gooey delicious peanut buttery brownie. YUM! YUM! YUM! Isaac was the only one who declined to eat one. Hes not much a snack hound unless its chips, popcorn or french fries.

Its Party Time!

Its hard to believe that Isaac will be turning 2 in one short week, and a week after that Macie will be 4! I don't really know what we were thinking to have 2 kids almost exactly 2 years apart, but I guess that means double the birthday fun! Isaac's party it all about trucks and jeeps, and Macies is a Princess and the Frog celebration! I am not too sure how I feel about the kids getting so big on us. I'm ok with the age 2, 2 is fun, but I am not too sure what to think about 4, 4 is close to 5, and that makes me sad. Macie on the other hand can't wait to be 4, then 5, then 6, then 7!
My very talented and good friend Geoffrey made the kids their birthday invitations again this year! She is so great! http://www.joeybelledesigns.blogspot.com/ Check out her site! She has amazing talent and so fun to work with!

Baking up some goodies
I've never been much of a baker. I don't bake. I cook. But theres been a change of heart lately with me, and I am trying out some fun cupcake recipes. I even bought a cupcake book I am still waiting on getting in the mail. Macie had a great time decorating up these Easter cupcakes. She did most of it by herself. Ok, I was behind her obsessing with how each marshmallow was placed, but she did most of the work. We had a great time baking and decorating. I don't think we even ate one though......
April Fools!
This April Fools I decided to play some jokes. I was going to make a tricky meal to fool the family, but after a busy day I only ended up with fake out juice. I made up some jello in juice cups and served it after supper. I thought it was hilarious! Macie on the other hand didn't find it too funny. Once I told her "APRIL FOOLS!" She found it a bit more funny, but still wasn't too happy with me. hahahahhaha. So we got out the spoons to eat the juice. After all of this she got in the spirit of jokes and called her Papa and Grandma to tell them some Knock-knock jokes.
Knock Knock
Whos there
April
April Who?
APRIL FOOLS!!!!
Pretty original hugh? We had a good time!

French fries over ice cream....
Macie and Roger are what I call "junk food junkies." They LOVE sweets! Ice cream would be a meal in itself if it were allowed, or brownies, or Oreos. Roger used to eat Oreos for breakfast!! What??@! Isaac on the other hand isn't so big on sweets. He likes to ask for them since Macie does, but he never fully indulges on them. For instance, we make a trip to Dairy Queen and Macie announces she would like a green blizzard (mint oreo,) and when we ask Isaac if he wants an ice cream cone he says "Noooo, french fries." So tonight we all got treats from Dairy Queen and Isaac got french fries. He was happy as can be with his DQ treat, and so were we.
Find that truck!
The sound of a big truck or a type of machinery cruising down the road sends Isaac on a hunt to find that truck! I found Isaac on his belly trying to see the big backhoe driving down the road. So what do I do? Run up to grab the camera! Macie had to go check things out herself. This little boy is a motor head! :) It MUST be in his blood!
