Meet Keagan, my cat for 18 years. She was such a good companion for me through out the years. I didn't think twice about bringing her with me to college 8 hours away, even though the apt said "no cats allowed." She would be my comfort and my piece of home away from home, no one was telling me I couldn't bring her with! She rode along with me anytime I traveled back home, she made every move with me. She welcomed our kids and still found her way on my lap even holding a newborn baby. She did take a trip for about a month. I thought she was gone forever. I held search parties (on my bike) put out flyer's (for real), and finally 30 days later I get a call from a nice man that was certain Keagan had made her way to his house, many miles away, across the river..... and sure enough, it was her. She was no longer allowed outside! Soon after, kidney disease was something we had to deal with. She had ups and downs with it, but soon it got the best of her. The day before Thanksgiving I took her to the vet knowing I would leave with bad news. She wasn't doing well at all, and had lived her 18 years great. A couple days later she passed away at home, in the middle of the night. Part of me was relieved I didn't have to put her down at the vet. Once again, my kids got me through a tough time. Macie and Isaac told me Keagan is now an angel looking over us. :) (I think they are angels as well.) They have helped me through some tough times, and they are just 3 and 5! Keagan is missed, but I will always remember her, and best of all, so will my kids.
